Meet the Maker

Hi! I'm Nihira Deliwala, the creator behind Stitched Memoirs.

My crochet journey began during the COVID-19 pandemic when I picked up a crochet hook as a way to stay busy at home. What started as a simple hobby quickly grew into a passion that has become a meaningful part of my life.

As a high school student, I enjoy balancing my love for creativity, community service, and handmade craftsmanship. Over the years, crochet has become much more than a hobby—it's a creative outlet that allows me to relax, challenge myself, and bring ideas to life. I love transforming yarn into something meaningful, whether it's a plushie, a gift, or a custom piece made especially for someone else. Seeing a finished project come together and knowing it will bring joy to another person is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do.

Beyond creating handmade items, I have used crochet as a way to give back to my community. Throughout my crochet journey, I have led several projects that combine creativity with service, including a fundraiser supporting the Alzheimer's Association that raised hundreds of dollars for Alzheimer's awareness and research. This summer, I designed and led crochet camps for children and teens in my community, creating a fun, hands-on environment where they developed creativity, patience, resilience, and confidence. Through each project, campers learned to embrace challenges, persevere through mistakes, and take pride in turning their ideas into finished creations.

Through Stitched Memoirs, I aim to share my passion for crochet, craft high-quality handmade pieces, and inspire others to discover their own creativity. Every item is carefully crafted with patience, attention to detail, and genuine care.
